In a significant step to deepen their existing partnership, the Chairman of Togolese company Magnimesso, a key African business partner of Jiangsu Miaodong Trade Group Co., Ltd., recently conducted a working visit to the Group's branch in Zambia. The purpose was to observe first-hand the successful operations and business model that have been established in the Southern African market.
During the visit, the Chairman and his delegation examined the branch's diversified portfolio and operational framework. This included the management of its core trade in heavy machinery, such as cranes and tractors, and its strategic focus on the used and refurbished truck market—a key sector for cost-effective fleet expansion in the region. The tour also featured a detailed inspection of the branch's dedicated maintenance center for trucks and heavy machinery, a critical facility supporting its comprehensive after-sales service and ensuring the operational readiness of its entire equipment inventory. Detailed discussions were held with the local management team to understand the practical challenges and solutions involved in running a successful overseas subsidiary, particularly in maintaining quality standards across both new and pre-owned vehicle categories.
This observational tour is part of a concrete plan to replicate a similar operational model in Lomé, Togo. By learning directly from the established Zambia example, Magnimesso aims to adapt and implement a tailored version of Jiangsu Miaodong's integrated trade and service system. This includes not only the import and distribution of new, used, and refurbished trucks and specialized equipment but also the establishment of a robust technical support and maintenance infrastructure. The initiative highlights a collaborative approach to South-South cooperation, where a proven, diversified partnership model is being leveraged to foster industrial growth, technology transfer, and economic diversification in West Africa. This move is expected to strengthen the strategic alliance between the two companies while contributing significantly to local development, skills transfer, and improved logistics capacity in Togo.
